The 2025 UKACC PhD Showcase will take place at the prestigious Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1 Birdcage Walk in London on 22 October 2025. The PhD Showcase has the aim of bringing postgraduate researchers and the control community together and celebrating the work taking place by PhD students. All PhD students working in any area of control are invited to submit a four-minute presentation on their research (see separate guidance document for details on how to apply).

This year you are invited to stay and join us for the IMechE Mechatronics, Informatics and Control Group Awards and Annual Lecture, at 1 Birdcage Walk, London. The lecture “Intuitive Control Design for Robotics Through Passivity and Optimization” will be given by Professor Fulvio Forni of the University of Cambridge.

IMechE Mechatronics, Informatics and Control Group Mechatronics Student of the Year Presentations (11:00am - 12:30pm)

• Join the IMechE invited audience to view student presentations for the Mechatronics, Informatics and Control Group Mechatronics Student of the Year Competition. Register for this when registering for the PhD Showcase.

PhD Presentations

There will be a limited number of presentation slots available. A panel will review the abstracts that are submitted, those successful will be notified by 13 October 2025 that they will be invited to present at the event. A UKACC panel will judge and award a prize for best presentation on the day. Full guidance for the submitting a presentation for the PhD showcase is available here.
